Growth Marketing Manager

This is not a role you slot into. This is a role you define.

WDG is looking for an in-agency entrepreneur, someone who wants to blueprint and build a growth function from the ground up, own it completely, and scale it as the business grows. You will be the architect of how WDG generates demand, builds relationships, and turns attention into pipeline.

You will set the strategy, design the programs, produce the assets, build the pages, write the content, and measure everything — without waiting on a team to execute your vision. AI is part of your toolkit, not your safety net. The ideas, the instincts, and the drive are yours.

The Role

This role is about making marketing work for our business, connecting what we say with who we reach and how that turns into qualified interest and opportunity for us.

You Will Own:

  • The growth blueprint. Design WDG’s growth marketing strategy from scratch: inbound, outbound, and everything in between.
  • Full-stack execution. Design assets in Figma or Adobe, build and update pages on our site, write the copy, and publish, without having to waiting on production resources to bring your vision to life.
  • Pipeline programs. Develop campaigns and touchpoints that can move the right people from awareness to qualified conversations.
  • AI-powered strategy. Use AI as a deliberate part of how you plan, think, and build — a tool that sharpens your strategy and accelerates your output but not a replacement for either.
  • Performance ownership. Define the metrics that matter, track them, and report on what is working, what is not, and where to push next.
  • Relationship building. Identify and cultivate connections through partner channels, associations, and industry networks where trust drives decisions and relationships drive pipeline.
  • Leadership partnership. Work directly with WDG’s leadership team to keep growth strategy tied to business priorities and market opportunity.

We are prioritizing candidates within the Washington, DC region or who are East Coast based.


Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • B2B growth marketing experience. 5+ years owning inbound and outbound programs end-to-end, with results you can speak to specifically.
  • Entrepreneurial instincts. You are energized by building, not maintaining. You see a blank page as an opportunity, not a risk.
  • Scrappy execution. You know how to generate pipeline without a big budget or a big team. You find a way.
  • Production range. You are comfortable in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google WorkSpace, Microsoft Office, WordPress, and Drupal. You can design, write, build, and publish without handing off to someone else.
  • AI as a strategic tool. You use AI intentionally, to strengthen your thinking, sharpen your messaging, and move faster. You can speak to exactly how and why. You do not use it as a crutch.
  • Strong writing. You create and edit your own content.
  • Data fluency. You use numbers to make decisions, set benchmarks, and report honestly on what the data is telling you.
  • Self-direction. You would rather have ownership than a to-do list. You do not need to be managed to stay motivated.

Bonus Points For:

  • Agency or professional services background. You understand what it means to market a firm, not a product.
  • Sector relationships. You have existing connections in B2B, associations, nonprofits, or foundations, the kinds of organizations where trust drives decisions and relationships drive pipeline.
  • You are a process builder. You have built repeatable growth systems from scratch and left something behind that outlasted you.
  • AI point of view. You have a genuine perspective on where AI is taking B2B marketing and how to stay ahead of it, and you are already acting on it.

Compensation &
Benefits

This role offers a salary range of $100k-130k, depending on experience, along with industry competitive benefits and perks, such as comprehensive health benefits, unlimited PTO, 401(k) with company matching, and company-paid life insurance.
